Rebecca Dodson-Webster holds degrees from Grove City College (B.Mus), Carnegie Mellon University (MFA), and the University of Wisconsin (DMA).  Her teachers include Douglas Hill, Soren Hermansson, Martin Smith, and John Cerminaro.  Rebecca is currently Associate Professor of Horn and Music History at Mansfield University.  In 2003, Rebecca was named Northeast Louisiana Arts Council’s Outstanding Artist of the Year.  She also received a Louisiana State Artist Fellowship, which led to the production of her solo CD Music for Horn and Piano on the Centaur Records Label.  Rebecca has performed in solo and chamber recitals in the United States, Canada, and Scandinavia; and she presented Tai Chi for Horn Players at the Southeast Horn Workshop in March, 2004.  She has presented her academic research at several regional and national conferences, including the College Music Society’s National Symposium in Salt Lake City.  She has also presented poster sessions describing her research on indigenous Scandinavian music.  Recent horn performances include International Horn Society events in North Carolina, Delaware, New Hampshire, and Virginia, and at International Horn Society Symposia in Kansas City and Banff.   A frequent clinician and adjudicator, she has appeared at festivals and competitions in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, New York, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. Her orchestral affiliations have included the Shreveport Symphony, the South Arkansas Symphony, the Monroe Symphony, and the Longview Symphony. Currently she serves as associate principal and third horn of the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes (NY) and as second horn in the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra (PA). Since summer, 2005, Rebecca has served as Co-Principal Horn with the Endless Mountain Music Festival (EMMF), where she has been featured in numerous orchestral and chamber performances.  She also serves as Director of Performance Previews for the festival and assists with the EMMF educational outreach mission. Rebecca lives in Northern Pennsylvania where she shares her love of music, nature, and the outdoors with her husband Don Webster (violinist), and son, Hayne.
